Uzbek envoy Ismatulla Irgashev underlined that Uzbekistan considers Azerbaijan as bridge between Asia and Europe.
He said: “We consider Baku Sea Port as important transport unit, which will ensure us to access Black Sea and Mediterranean markets. In this context, we are interested in project on constructing Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project.”
Irgashev underlined: “We are hoping that implementation of transport and economic projects in Azebaijan will contribute to development of security in the region.”
The Uzbek envoy noted that direct air communication between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan is highly demanded. He added that Uzbekistan Havo Yollari annually carries out 300 flights between Baku and Tashkent airports, but it is low number.
He said that the works are underway on increase flights’ number, but starting from September the flights are conducted with larger Airbus aircrafts. This will allow to increase aviation cargo transportation between two countries, he said. The Uzbek envoy said that the sides agreed that Azerbaijan will use Tashkent airport for transit flights to Asian-Pacific region.
