Uzbekistan introduces visa-free regime for citizens of 20 countries

Starting from 1 January 2020, Uzbekistan will introduce a visa-free regime for a period of 30 days for citizens of another 20 countries.

This decision is adopted in accordance with the decree of President “On measures for the further development of the tourism sector in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

The list includes:

  1. Antigua and Barbuda
  2. Barbados
  3. Belize
  4. Grenada
  5. Dominican Republic
  6. Mexico
  7. Guatemala
  8. Honduras
  9. Costa Rica
  10. Cuba
  11. Nicaragua
  12. Panama
  13. Trinidad and Tobago
  14. El Salvador
  15. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
  16. Saint Lucia
  17. Bahamas
  18. Dominica
  19. Saint Kitts and Nevis
  20. Jamaica

 

Starting from 1 February, citizens of these countries were given the opportunity to apply for an electronic entry visa.

By decree, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was instructed to revise the legal acts on issuing entry and exit visas to foreign citizens and stateless persons in Uzbekistan within a month, providing for a simplification of the visa application process, optimization of the time for processing applications and reduction of unnecessary documents, as well as the introduction of electronic document management.

 

Until 1 January 2020, the State Security Service was instructed to ensure registration of tourists’ registration, as well as control over their stay in Uzbekistan and the timeliness of departure from the country with the possibility of checking registration by developing appropriate software.
