Uzbekistan introduces measures to support live performances: Phonograms to be limited
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A government resolution, effective from 1 May, introduces several measures to support live performances in concert and entertainment activities.
In particular, the use of phonograms at events funded by the government and extrabudgetary funds will be gradually limited.
Additionally, it will become mandatory to indicate on promotional materials whether the performance is live, with a phonogram, or with only a phonogram.
A significant new development is that when nominating candidates for the titles of "People's Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan," "Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan," and "People's Singer of the Republic of Uzbekistan," their ability to perform live will be taken into account.
Furthermore, from 1 July, concert advertisements with live performances on NTRK television channels will be aired at a 30% discount.
Events with partial use of phonograms will be allowed to be broadcast on these channels free of charge if they receive a positive opinion from the Artistic Council.
There are also plans to hold a "Live Performance Week" in each region of the country every quarter.
