Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- New excise stamps will be introduced in Uzbekistan from 1 August this year, while old-style stamps are allowed to be used until January 2024.
From 1 August, in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, new excise stamps are introduced for alcohol and tobacco products produced in Uzbekistan and imported into the country.
It is noted that from the date of introduction of excise stamps of a new sample:
- manufacturing organizations and importers are allowed to simultaneously use old-style excise stamps in the production (import) of alcoholic and tobacco products, as well as to sell the product residues labeled with them within 5 months;
- only importers can independently apply to SUE “Davlat Belgisi” to purchase excise duty stamps of a new sample;
- after 12 months, products marked with excise stamps of the old sample in the wholesale and retail trade network are considered unmarked and removed from sale in the prescribed manner.
It is reported that the shelf life and storage of alcoholic beverages is determined by manufacturers independently up to 24 months, in agreement with the Ministry of Health - more than 24 months.
