Uzbekistan intends to raise export of tourism services to US$2.72bn by 2022
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to increase the volume of exported tourism services to US$2.722 billion by 2022.

This is envisaged with the draft concept of the development of tourism industry in Uzbekistan in 2017-2021.

The draft of the concept was published at Single interactive state services portal for discussion.

According to the draft concept, the volume of exported tourism services made up US$1.336 billion in 2016 and it is expected that the figure will reach US$2.722 billion in the end of 2021.

The draft concept said that 1.979 million foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan in 2016. In line with the concept, this figure should hike to 2.525 million foreigners.

According to the document, number of hotels and other accommodation sites will grow from 622 units in 2016 to 1,036 units in 2021, and tour operators – from 418 to 565 units in the reporting period.

The volume of investment into fixed capital of tourism industry will grow from 46.4 billion soums in 2016 to 75.8 billion soums in 2021.
