On 14 May 2018, the President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution "On Measures for Accelerated Development of Electronic Commerce".

The resolution said that the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications is instructed to develop and approve the pcrocedure for saving mobile number by the subscriber’s when switching to another mobile operator by the end of 2018.

This move is directed at ensuring effective operation of the remote client identification mechanism with the connection to the mobile number of the subscribers’ phone.
