The delegation of India arrived in Uzbekistan to participate at the session of the Council of the heads of the governments of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the sides discussed actual aspects of the Uzbek-Indian relations, including perspectives of cooperation within the SCO.
During the meeting, the sides considered implementationof agreements, reached during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to India in May 2011.
They underlined that priority character on deepening of the trade-economic relations between Uzbekistan and India. The sides stated that current level of mutual trade turnover show significant potential of cooperation.
At the meeting, both sides expressed interest in expanding mutual supplies, implementation of mutual beneficial project with use of opportunities on inter-modal hub in Navoi city, which is conducting regular cargo transportations to Europe and Asia, including Indian cities of Dehli and Mumbai.
The sides exchanged opinion on international and regional issues.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan Anumula Gites Sarma participated at the meeting.
