Uzbekistan increases prices for electricity, gas

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will increase prices for electricity and natural gas for population and enterprises from 1 October 2013. The growth rate will make up 6.95% and 8.5% respectively.

According to Uzbekenergo and Uzbekneftegaz, new prices for electricity and gas were approved by the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekenergo said that the cost for 1 KWH electricity will grow from 112.2 soums to 120 soums. The growth rate makes up 6.95%.

The cost of for 1 KWH electricity at houses, equipped with electric ovens, will increase from 56.1 soums to 60 soums (+6.95%).

According to Uzbekneftegaz, population will pay 151.74 soums per 1 cubic meter of gas if they have gas meter. The current cost of 1 cubic meter of gas is 129.8 soums. The growth rate made up 8.54%.

At the same time, the cost of 1 cubic meter of gas, if there is no gas meter, will grow from 241.85 soums to 262.42 soums (+8.5%).

Uzbekistan increased prices for gas and electricity last time on 1 April 2013.
