Uzbekistan implements projects on increasing Internet speed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is implementing projects on development of telecommunication infrastructure for US$117.6 million, infoCOM.UZ reported quoting the press service of the State Communication Committee.

According to the resolution of the Uzbek President “On measures on implementation of investment projects on development and modernization of telecommunication network of Uzbekistan with participation of China Development Bank” from 2 December 2014, Uzbekistan implements projects on development of telecommunication infrastructure for US$117.6 million. The China Development Bank issued loan for US$100 million to implement them.

These projects directed at expanding capacity of data transfer networks: on international direction by 10 times (up to 100 Gbps) and to regional centers by 4 times (up to 40 Gbps), as well as district centers by 10 times ( up to 10 Gbps).

Within the resolution, it is also planned to develop broadband access to Internet on FTTx technology with contract cost of US$6.9 million. It is directed at modernizing subscribers’ lines in Tashkent with installation of data transfer equipment for 69,120 ports.
