Uzbekistan holds 115th place in ICT Development Index
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan took the 115th place in the ICT Development Index, which was published on Monday, 24 November 2014.

International Telecommunication Union (ITU) published its flagship annual Measuring the Information Society Report, which also includes the ICT Development Index.

The IDI is a standard tool that governments, operators, development agencies, researchers and others can use to measure the digital divide and compare ICT performance within and across countries.

The ICT Development Index is based on 11 ICT indicators, grouped in three clusters: access, use and skills. The Index covers 166 economies of the world and compared data for 2013 and 2012.

According to the report, Uzbekistan took the 115th place in the ICT Development Index with the index of 3.4. Last year, Uzbekistan was on 116th place with index of 3.27.

Uzbekistan took the 136th place in access cluster with index of 2.95 (136 place with index 2.78 in 2012). The country was on 101st place with index 2.09 in use cluster (98th place with index 1.94) and 91st place in skills cluster with index 6.94 (91st place with index 6.94).

Denmark topped the Index. South Korea, Sweden, Iceland, UK and Norway followed the country. The Netherland, Finland, Hong Kong and Luxembourg were among Top-10.
