Uzbekistan hands over 25 buses to Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan transferred 25 buses to the Ministry of Higher Education of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on the behalf of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the bus transfer ceremony took place in Kabul. Uzbek Ambassador Yadgarhoja Shadmanov presented the gift of the head of Uzbekistan to the people of Afghanistan.

“Uzbekistan’s efforts to establish peace and stability in Afghanistan through stepping up trade and economic cooperation, assisting the country in implementing major infrastructure projects and engaging Afghanistan in regional economic integration processes deserve appreciation,” said Transport Minister Muhammad Hamid Tahmasi.

The Minister of Higher Education, Najibullah Khoja Omari, expressed deep gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for such a significant gift to the Afghan people, noting that this event is a vivid example of Uzbekistan’s fraternal attitude towards the people of Afghanistan.

Deputy Finance Minister Abdullah Rakibi said the significant prospects for future cooperation between two countries, despite the ongoing war in Afghanistan: “We are sincerely grateful to the Uzbek people for their continued attention to our needs and aspirations. Only brothers and true friends who are confident in a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan can do this. ”
