Uzbekistan GTL plant to reach full capacity by 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Uzbekistan GTL plant is scheduled to achieve full operational capacity by 2026, according to a press release from Fitch Ratings.

The agency noted that the underutilization of the facility has negatively impacted the financial performance of Uzbekneftegaz JSC (UNG).

The plant’s production capacity allows for the annual output of up to 3.6 billion cubic meters of products, including diesel fuel, naphtha, jet kerosene, and liquefied gas.

Fitch added that reaching full capacity by 2026 is a key target. The agency emphasized that achieving maximum utilization will be a positive factor for the company’s credit profile.

Earlier reports indicated that in 2024, the Uzbekistan GTL plant aims to produce over 1 million tons of environmentally friendly synthetic products, primarily for the domestic market.

The plant’s opening ceremony was held on 25 December 2021 in Guzar district of Kashkadarya Region.

This facility is considered the largest enterprise in the oil and gas chemical sector not only in Uzbekistan but also in the region.

The plant can process 3.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually, producing up to 1.5 million tons of liquid fuel valued at over US$1 billion. Its output includes 307,000 tons of jet kerosene, 724,000 tons of diesel fuel, 437,000 tons of naphtha, and 53,000 tons of liquefied gas.
