Uzbekistan, Germany to mark the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Embassy of Germany in Uzbekistan is planning to hold several events in 2012, which will be dedicated to 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Germany.

The embassy said that the events will be held in Tashkent city, Karakalpakstan Republic and Ferghana Valley.

On the eve of the event, the embassy held a logo contest titled “20 years to the German-Uzbek diplomatic relations” and logo by Davron Abdullaev won the contest. The logo will be used in all jubilee events.

The events will be kicked off with a project titled “Meeting at Ferghana Valley”, which will be opened with classic music concert in Ferghana city on 28 April 2012.

Till the autumn 2012, it is planned to hold several concert, theatre projects and football tournament. Within the “Meeting at Ferghana Valley”, it is also planned to organize other events, such as presentation of films, concerts, seminars, etc.

Main topics of these events will be education, culture, assistance in studying German language and sports.

In June, it is planned to hold reception at the residence of German Ambassador Wolfgang Neuen on occasion of the jubilee. In early September, the embassy will hold cultural and sport events in Karakalpakstan Republic.

Currently, the embassy conducts competition “Ambassador of Culture”, which is directed at implementation of cultural projects connected to Germany. The selected projects will receive 500 euros for project realization.

Business delegation of Germany will also visit Navoi, Bukhara and Ferghana Valley. German Economy Days will be held in Tashkent. German businesses will also participate in such exhibitions as UzBuild 2012 and WorldFood Uzbekistan 2012.

The embassy said that these events will contribute to development of relations between Germany and Uzbekistan in culture and economy.
