Uzbekistan fully switched to digital television

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Everyone has always dreamed of watching television, good image quality and stability, so that it would not be necessary to adjust the antenna, adjust the sound and want to have many TV channels to choose from.

Today, this desire has been fulfilled for all the people of Uzbekistan with the arrival of digital television in every home.

During the period 2014-2018, the Center for Radio Communications, Radio Broadcasting and Television carried out a large set of organizational and technical measures to significantly expand the digital TV broadcasting network of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the installation, installation and commissioning of 90 powerful and 404 low-power digital TV transmitters of the DVB-T2 standard.

The situation radically changed with the adoption of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 17, 2017, PKM - 502 “On further measures on switching to digital television and termination of terrestrial analogue television”. With the release of this resolution, a final decision was made on the phased disconnection of analogue television transmitters throughout the country and the last analogue television transmitter was turned off only on December 5, 2018.

Since that day, the Republic of Uzbekistan has entered the era of digital television broadcasting completely. Thanks to the well-organized work of the leadership of the Center for Radio Communications, Broadcasting and Television, the process of switching off analog television was held at a high organizational level. Thus, in every region of the Republic a wide explanatory work was conducted among the population about the advantages of digital television and the necessary conditions for its viewing. Similar work was also carried out with the help of the media (publications in newspapers, magazines and speeches on radio and television channels).

By the way, it will be said that our neighbors in the CIS, for example, the Russian Federation, is still continuing work on the transition to digital television broadcasting and the disconnection of analogue television broadcasting.

The Center for Radio Communications, Broadcasting and Television does not stop at what has been achieved and by the holiday - the 27th anniversary of Independence Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan after the preparatory work in Tashkent, the test broadcast of the LuxTV television program in the new innovative broadcast format “4K” - the format of ultra-high definition video.

Currently, Center for Radio Communications, Radio Broadcasting and Television, together with UzdigitalTV LLC, continues to work to improve the quality of broadcast television programs and expand the range of digital broadcasting services. In particular, to improve the quality of TV programs, the PMU Radio Communications, Broadcasting and Television Center provides television broadcasting in a high-quality standard, High-Definition (HD), and also gradually switches to broadcasting in two sound tracks (in Uzbek and Russian).
