According to the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan, the protocol was signed in Helsinki on 8 March 2016 within the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan to Finland.

Chairperson of the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan Botir Parpiev and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland Timo Soini signed the document.

The protocol to agreement introduces new regulations in line with international standards of taxation transparency.

It is worth to mention that the agreement between Uzbekistan and Finland on avoiding double taxation and preventing evasion from payment of income tax was signed on 9 April 1998.
