Uzbekistan exports light industry products for US$675.9m

The State Statistics Committee said that the share of light industry in total industrial production made up 12%.

In nine months of 2013, textile industry of Uzbekistan produced goods for 4.326 trillion soums (+13.6%), garment industry – 532 billion soums (+25.5%) and leather-shoe industry – 292,3 billion soums (+23.1%).

The enterprises increased production cotton fabrics (1.4 times), cotton yarn (1.2 times), knitted fabrics (1.5 times) and jerseys (1.2 times).

The large industrial enterprises of light industry of Uzbekistan recorded growth of production of hosiery (1.4 times), raw silk yarn (1.5 times), materials for footwear (2.1 times), and textile haberdashery (4.3 times).

In January-September, the exports of light industry goods (excluding cotton-fibre) made up US$675.9 million, which rose by 35.6% year-on-year.
