Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan exported gold worth US$8.2 billion in January-November 2023, according to data from the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan.
According to the department, Uzbekistan increased gold exports by 2.3 times in January-November 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
The volume of gold exports increased from US$3.53 billion in January-November 2022 to US$8.15 billion in January-November 2023.
At the same time, the share of gold in Uzbekistan’s total exports increased from 19.9% in January-November 2022 to 35.1% in January-November 2023.
In January-November 2023, foreign trade turnover (FTT) in Uzbekistan amounted to US$57.3 billion and increased, compared to the same period last year, by US$11.9 billion, or 26.2%.
According to the World Gold Council, Uzbekistan ranked first in the world in terms of gold sales in October 2023.
