A business forum of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan held a meeting to discuss creation of Uzbekistan Exporters’ Association and promotion of exports of local companies on 24 April.

Shukurbek Mirzadjanov, executive director of Business Consultants’ Association, delivered a report on concept and goals of the new association.

Mirzadjanov said currently, development of export sphere now requires institutionalization of this process and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, UNDP and other state structures initiated process on creation of Uzbekistan Exporters’ Association.

He said the export sphere is very difficult and the companies need methodical and practical assistance in export procedures.

He added that the conference dedicated to creation of the association help to find out opinion of exporters on form of the association’s creation, about its services, determine problems and trends in export development.

Export potential of Uzbekistan is huge and its potential did not use fully, he said. The aim of the association is to determine and create single action plan.

The creation of the association is divided into three stages. The first stage is to study opinion of private sector, the second is to develop constituent documents and the third stage includes development of business plan and ensure its sustainable development.

He said it is expected that all works will be completed soon and the first constituent commission will meet.

The presentation of “Manual on export activity” and export platform www.exim.uz were presented at the session.
