Uzbekistan directs 633.4bn soums to road construction

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan directed 633.4 billion soums to construction and reconstruction of roads, which are part of the Uzbek national highway, in nine months of 2013, a publication of Ministry of Economy and State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, published in local media, said.

Republican Road Fund issued 537.8 billion soums to road construction and reconstruction, foreign loans attracted under the guarantee of the government and resources of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan – 95.6 billion soums.

The construction and reconstruction of the roads with the length 318 km were completed, of which 15 km at Tashkent-Osh automobile road, 8 km of new road at Tashkent circleroad, 130 km Guzar-Bukhara-Nukus-Beineu roads.

The country also reconstructed 182 km of railway roads and produced 414 cargo and 23 passenger wagons.

Uzbekistan also implements a project on electrification of railroad Marqand-Qarshi and Qarshi-Termez and construction of new railroad Angren-Pap.
