Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The second meeting of the Uzbek-Indian joint working group on information technologies was held in Tashkent on 17 August.

Given the leading role of the Republic of India in the world of software production, the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications is working to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of information technologies with Indian partners, both in the public and private sectors.

During the meeting, the planned work on strengthening and further development of bilateral cooperation was announced. A key factor in the development of the IT industry is the human potential,.

In order to increase the use of the potential of the Javakharlal Nehru Uzbek-Indian Information Technology Center, which successfully operates at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies, it was proposed to strengthen the cooperation of this center with the Center for Advanced Computer Technologies of India (C-DAC).

It was also proposed to expand the academic cooperation between the profile universities of the two countries, namely the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khorazmiy with the Indian Institute of Technology of Delhi and the Delhi University of Technology.

Taking into account India’s vast experience in the development of IT parks, issues of cooperation and exchange of experience between the Mirzo-Ulugbek Innovation Center and Indian Technology Parks of Software (STPI) were discussed, as well as the establishment of a partnership between the Electronic Government Development Center of Uzbekistan and the National Informatics Center of India in this direction was considered.

The Uzbek side also invited interested Indian IT companies to implement joint investment projects in Uzbekistan. To support IT-companies, the government presents unprecedented tax incentives and preferences.

The participants of the meeting also got acquainted with the activities of the Center for Information Security and Assistance in Ensuring Public Order and Response Service (UzCERT). International cooperation is the most important factor in the field of information security for the purpose of comprehensive confrontation with cyber threats.
