Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Senate delegation of Uzbekistan, led by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, participated in the debates organized as part of the 149th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union on the topic of “Using Science, Technology, and Innovation for a More Peaceful and Sustainable Future.”

During the event, it was noted that practical work aimed at developing science has been underway in Uzbekistan in recent years, leading to the adoption of numerous regulatory acts in a short period.

The accelerated implementation of modern technologies and the digitalization of various industries have been identified as key priorities within the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy.

It was particularly highlighted that, as a result of the implemented reforms, Uzbekistan improved its position by 40 places in the Global Innovation Index ranking in 2023 compared to 2015.

During the debates, the delegation also put forward an initiative to promote innovative sectors in the future, facilitate experience sharing to strengthen and develop the human resources of parliaments, and activate global dialogue in the fields of science and technology.
