The conference provided the global forum for exploring the latest developments and challenges in international education. This year’s conference theme was “World Potential: making education meet the challenge” and was attended by 1200 delegates from more than 80 countries of the world.

An Uzbek delegation including Dr. R. Kasimov, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and Dr. A. Ismailov, Rector of the University of World Languages took part in the conference. Dr. R. Kasimov gave a presentation on New Horizons and the Future of Higher Education which focussed on the strategy and key reforms in higher education in Uzbekistan and discussed the benefits of international partnerships in education. The presentation was very well received by the international audience.

During the conference important meetings to discuss mutually beneficial university partnerships were organised with Vice Chancellors of key universities in the UK and senior British Council management.
