Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Uzbekistan’s Ambassador, Nodirjon Turgunov, met with Fahd Al-Kanan, the Deputy Minister of Culture of Saudi Arabia responsible for international relations, Dunyo news agency reported.
During the meeting, Fahd Al-Kanan noted the rapid growth of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan at the highest level. He emphasized that these efforts are accompanied by the support of the peoples of the two fraternal countries and are the result of the political will of the leaders of both nations.
Particular attention was paid to the active participation of the Uzbekistan delegation in the International Biennale of Islam, held every two years. Fahd Al-Kanan proposed to further develop the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the Fund for the Development of Culture and Art, and the Muslim Directorate of Uzbekistan in this event, which is planned to be held in Saudi Arabia in January 2025.
It was also announced that negotiations have begun this year with the Uzbek side on holding Uzbek Cultural Days in Riyadh and Jeddah, emphasizing the importance of regularly conducting such dialogues.
