Uzbekistan creates Republican Council on radio frequencies
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution “On improving organizational management and use of radio frequency spectrum” on 22 October 2013.

The resolution abolished the State Commission on radio frequencies of Uzbekistan and created Republic Council on radio frequencies.

The main tasks of the Council are to implement state policy in effective use of radio frequencies in Uzbekistan, develop and implement concept on distribution and use of radio frequencies, conduct international cooperation in use of radio frequencies, protect national interests of Uzbekistan at international organizations on planning, allocating and using radio frequencies.

The Council will also protect interests of the users of the radio frequencies, introduce modern technologies in the sector, etc.

The resolution said that structure and regulation of the Republican Council on radio frequencies. The State Committee for communication, information and telecommunication technologies determined as a working body of the Council.

The document also created department on regulation of radio frequency spectrum to organizational-technical activities of the Council.
