Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On organization of activity of National Committee of Uzbekistan of Large Dams” on 25 March 2011.

According to the document, the main tasks of the National Committee are promotion interest of Uzbekistan in ensuring security of large dams and position of Uzbekistan on rational use of trans-boundary water resources.

The committee will also improve system on protecting security of dams through studying experience of other country and exchange scientific, technical and other information with similar foreign committee.

The committee will also participate in work of ICOLD and its working groups through delegating specialists and scientists, as well as assist to organization of international organizations, regional conferences and other forums of the organization.

The resolution said that State Inspection on Control and Supervision over Technical Conditions and Security of work of large and important water objects under the Cabinet of Ministers (Gosvodhoznadzor) is executive body of the National Committee.
