Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On additional measures on improving system of monitoring in mass communication sector”.
The document is adopted to carry out efficient monitoring and improving activity in formation and dissemination of mass media communication, as well as ensure information security of personality, public and the government.
The main task of the commission is to consider results of monitoring of national information area and activity of mass media communication, including modern information-communication technologies, satellite system, Internet, other electronic system of information delivery and distribution, as well as print products.
The commission will also analyze materials of monitoring, presented by the Center of monitoring of mass communication of the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information, for adherence to legislation to protect interest of persons, public and the government, prevent destructive negative information-psychological impact to perception of citizens, preserving national cultural traditions and heritage.
The commission will prepare and present to the state bodies conclusions on violations of legislation by subjects, rendering mass communication services, and determine problems, preventing effective functioning of mass media. New structure will develop proposals on improving legislation in mass communication.
The government determined that the working body of the Commission is the Center for monitoring in mass communication of the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information.
