Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 16 January 2025, the Uzbekistan-China Business Forum took place in Tashkent, organized with the support of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Uzbekistan.
The event, an important step in strengthening business ties and developing new joint projects, as well as in the overall growth of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, gathered over 400 participants — representatives from the business communities of Uzbekistan and China. The forum was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China, Yu Jun, as well as heads of relevant ministries and agencies.
Speakers highlighted the steady expansion of cooperation between the two countries, noting that China is currently Uzbekistan’s largest trade and investment partner.
By the end of 2024, China’s investments in Uzbekistan’s economy exceeded US$10 billion, while trade turnover reached US$13.1 billion.
There are 3,357 enterprises with Chinese participation operating in Uzbekistan. Chinese companies are actively implementing projects in various sectors such as energy, light industry, infrastructure development, food production, geological exploration, and other fields.
Participants of the forum were provided with information about favorable business conditions in Uzbekistan, the protection of entrepreneurs' rights, and the opportunities the country offers to investors. There was an emphasis on Uzbekistan’s readiness to offer comprehensive support in the implementation and operation of investment projects.
As part of the forum, presentations were held on Uzbekistan’s investment and tourism potential, and B2B and B2G meetings were organized. Participants had the opportunity to establish business contacts, discuss promising projects, and sign mutually beneficial agreements.
The forum concluded with an open dialogue with entrepreneurs, where foreign participants received detailed answers to their questions regarding the organization and management of business in Uzbekistan.
