John Sloan arrived in Tashkent as head of business delegation to hold joint events with Uzbek businesses and familiarize with special industrial zone “Angren”.

During the meeting, the sides discussed perspective issues of developing bilateral relations and implementation of agreements, reached at the Uzbek-Canadian consultations in November 2012 in Ottawa.

It was noted that creation of Friendship Group “Canada-Uzbekistan” at House of Commons (lower house of Canadian parliament) will positive impact to strengthen inter-parliamentary dialogue. The sides underlined mutual interest in creation of favourable conditions for expanding of mutual beneficial contacts in trade-economic and investment sectors, implementation of new projects with attraction of advanced technologies. Currently, some 31 joint ventures with Canadian capital are operating in Uzbekistan. At the meeting, the sides considered schedule of bilateral contacts in various levels, other issues of mutual interest.
