With both sides boasting perfect records going in to Sunday’s showdown, the last fixture at the Petra Stadium in Amman would determine whether or not it would be Jordan or Uzbekistan that would follow Australia and Thailand and qualify for next year’s finals in China.
Neither side could break the deadlock in a hard-fought first 45 but Uzbekistan needed just four second-half minutes to opening the scoring, with Nodira Muydinova putting the Central Asians one up.
With the clock ticking down it was looking like the Uzbek forward’s fourth of the qualifiers would be enough to settle the tie but with seven minutes remaining Kudratova got on the score sheet for the third successive match before sealing the win three minutes into second-half stoppage-time.
