Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Traffic Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has started issuing registration license plates for mopeds, scooters, and electric scooters. 

The first video featuring samples of the new license plates was shared by the Traffic Safety Department of Ferghana region. According to their information, the issuance of plates began on 26 December at registration and examination offices.

Electric scooters and electric motorcycles will have license plates with a green background in the regional code area. For scooters with internal combustion engines, the background in this area remains white.

Owners of mopeds and scooters that have not yet been registered with the Traffic Safety Department are advised to visit the registration and examination offices. There, the vehicle will undergo an inspection, followed by its registration.

It is worth recalling that the design of license plates for mopeds and scooters was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers in July of this year. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Agency for Technical Regulation were tasked with developing the corresponding technical regulations within three months.

Starting from 1 January 2025, a ban on operating unregistered mopeds is expected to be enforced.
