Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has shipped a batch of grapes to the U.S. market.
According to the "Dunyo" news agency, 1.7 tons of grapes of the varieties "Ladies’ Finger", "Kishmish", "Mercedes", and "Husayni" were delivered to New York.
The shipment was carried out under an export contract signed between the Uzbek-American Trade House in New York and GardenCells LLC.
The batch successfully passed customs clearance and sanitary inspection at New York’s airport.
A total of 3,600 packages, prepared in compliance with the requirements of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), were distributed across the outlets of the American grocery chain NetCost.
The grapes sold out quickly, prompting a new order.
From now on, Uzbek grapes will be supplied to New York weekly, with volumes ranging from 3 to 4 tons.
