Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 22 July, during the 46th session of UNESCO in New Delhi, a significant meeting took place between the Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Cultural and Art Development Foundation Gayane Umerova and the Director-General of the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) Aruna Francesca Maria Guglielmi. 

The meeting focused on organizing training sessions for the restoration and conservation of cultural assets, with both parties agreeing to develop a joint action plan.

In accordance with Presidential Decree PP-128 from 15 March  2024, Uzbekistan submitted an official application to join ICCROM in June 2024.

Uzbekistan's membership in ICCROM grants access to advanced methodologies and international expertise in the restoration and conservation of cultural monuments, enabling participation in global projects for cultural heritage preservation. The Fund and ICCROM aim to collaborate actively to achieve these goals.
