Uzbekistan beat Jordan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Two late goals from Nilufar Kudratova kept Uzbekistan’s campaign alive, and confirmed Jordan’s elimination from the qualification race at the Lokomotiv Stadium.

Uzbekistan must now defeat Hong Kong on Tuesday, and hope Vietnam fail to gain any points in their match with Jordan.

The Group B hosts’ win on Matchday Two marked the end of the road for Al-Nashmiyat, with 21-year-old Kudratova’s double consigning the West Asian side to an early elimination.

With neither side winning on the opening day, the stakes could scarcely have been higher for the two teams, who largely cancelled each other out in a first-half which produced no goals.

With a draw doing no favours for either side, the game opened up after the break, with Kudratova finally breaking the deadlock in the 72nd minute.

Jordan introduced Leen Al Btoush late on in search of a way back into the contest, but recently in-form striker Raya Hina remained on the bench, before Kudratova sealed the match by completing her brace in the second minute of stoppage time.
