Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 August 2025, the Government of Uzbekistan adopted Resolution No. 495, which approves the Regulation outlining the procedure for the development and implementation of driver projects aimed at promoting economic growth in districts and cities.

According to the document, driver projects are defined as initiatives in industry, services, or agriculture that—based on the specific resources and capacities of a given region—are capable of generating tangible economic growth and structural transformation.

The responsibility for the development, coordination, and initiation of such projects lies with the khokims of districts and cities. Each year by 1 November, district and city administrations must submit their proposed projects, which are then to be forwarded within a week to the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan as well as the regional and Tashkent city administrations.

Within 10 working days, the documentation is transferred to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which then conducts a detailed on-site evaluation of the projects over the following 15 working days.

The selection of general design organizations will be carried out on a competitive basis in accordance with national legislation. Projects will be considered complete and commissioned upon the issuance of an official act by the relevant khokimiyat.
