Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A ceremonial event was held in Minsk to officially appoint Vasilina Mitskevich, Chief Curator of the State Literary and Memorial Museum of Yakub Kolas and granddaughter of the famed Belarusian poet, as the new Brand Ambassador for Uzbekistan’s tourism in Belarus.

The event brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Belarus–Uzbekistan Friendship Society, cultural figures, writers, journalists, and media professionals.

Speakers noted that Yakub Kolas, in his literary works, expressed deep admiration for Uzbekistan, particularly the city of Tashkent, portraying it as a symbol of warmth, hospitality, and mutual understanding between peoples. His legacy continues to strengthen the cultural and spiritual bonds between the two nations.

"I am truly honored to receive this title. I will do my utmost to promote Uzbekistan’s rich history, unique culture, and traditions. I am confident that interest in Uzbekistan among Belarusians will continue to grow," Vasilina Mitskevich said during her remarks.

Her appointment reflects a commitment to deepening humanitarian cooperation and enhancing Uzbekistan’s image as a key cultural and tourist destination in the region.
