Uzbekistan 29/08/2009 Uzbekistan appoints coordinator for CIS affairs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Rustam Kasimov has been appointed as national coordinator of Uzbekistan on the affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Institute of national coordinators was created in line with the decision of the Council of the head of states in 2008. The document was inked by Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

National coordinators are vice-prime ministers or other official, which have enough power to realize the CIS agreement in their countries. National coordinators will control over implementation of agreements within the CIS in their countries and coordinate state bodies on cooperation within the organization. Rights and obligation of the national coordinators set by the national legislation of each state.

Currently, only Armenia did not appointed national coordinator.
