Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 October, a meeting was held between Rodney Sikumba, Zambia's Deputy Tourism Minister, participating the UNWTO General Assembly in Samarkand, and Umid Shadiev, the Chairman of Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The guest from Zambia noted that it was the first time he visited this part of the Asian continent, and it was a great discovery for him. He emphasized that although there is a big difference between the two countries and cultures, this very difference is our strength. According to him, initiatives of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev are similar to views of Zambian President Adama Barrow on tourism. 

The Deputy Minister of Tourism emphasized his great interest in studying Uzbekistan's experience in attracting direct investment and the opportunities created for the tourism industry.

Mr. Sikumba invited Uzbek citizens to take part in the Agritech Expo Exhibition to be held in Zambia and cooperate with travel companies in attracting tourists from Zambia to Uzbekistan and vice versa.
