Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 13 November 2024, a meeting took place between Ismatulla Irgashev, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, and representatives of the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), Barmak Pajwak and Matthew Parks.
The USIP representatives emphasized Uzbekistan's crucial role in establishing long-term peace in Afghanistan.
They expressed interest in continuing cooperation with Uzbekistan to support consultations with various countries in the region.
The goal of these consultations is to develop a strategy for the peaceful resolution of the situation in Afghanistan and to improve the country's socio-economic conditions.
Both sides confirmed their mutual interest in continuing consultations on Afghan issues.
The meeting highlights Uzbekistan’s active role in regional cooperation for the resolution of the Afghan situation and its commitment to achieving peace and stability in the country.
