Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 29 October, a working meeting was held in Bukhara between the heads of the transport departments of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
The meeting was attended by B. Kholmatov, director of the Center for Transport and Logistics Problems under the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, and V. Khojanepesov, deputy chairman of the Turkmenavtoulaglary agency of Turkmenistan.
The main topic of discussion was the challenges faced by Uzbek national carriers when transporting goods through Turkmenistan, as well as possible solutions to address these issues.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided to establish an interagency working group to promptly resolve emerging issues related to transportation. The parties also agreed that starting in 2025, fees and payments would be collected on a parity basis.
Additionally, an agreement was reached to implement an E-permit electronic exchange system to streamline the document issuance process and enhance the efficiency of cargo transportation.
