Uzbekistan and Türkiye strengthen cooperation in the IT sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  A delegation led by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov is currently on a working visit to Istanbul, Türkiye.

The goal of the visit is to strengthen ties in the information technology sector between the two countries and discuss new joint projects.

During the visit, the delegation met with Mesut Albayrak, a board member of one of Türkiye’s largest companies, Al Bayrak Group.

At the meeting, the company’s technical director, Erdal Nalbant, gave a detailed presentation about Al Bayrak Group’s activities.

Sherzod Shermatov also shared information about the favorable conditions and opportunities created for the IT sector in Uzbekistan.

Al Bayrak Group, founded in 1952, currently includes over 80 companies and operates in more than 20 sectors, including real estate, logistics, media, industry, and tourism.

The meeting provided information about the IT Park in Uzbekistan and its Zero Risk program.

Shermatov highlighted that Uzbek IT specialists possess strong language skills, including proficiency in Turkish and English, and have significant potential.

As a result of the talks, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Digital Technologies and Al Bayrak Group. According to the agreement, the company plans to open an office in Uzbekistan and hire local IT specialists to develop new IT solutions.

The delegation also held meetings with the leadership of Turkish IT companies Teknopalas and AsirDX. During these meetings, they discussed the activities of IT Park, its programs, and incentives.

Teknopalas, established in 2005, specializes in developing high-tech solutions in RFID and IoT. Company representatives shared their plans to open an office in Uzbekistan and apply for residency status in IT Park.

During talks with AsirDX, discussions focused on the impact of information technologies on the global economy and the potential for increasing the export of technological solutions between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.

The meeting concluded with discussions on establishing a subsidiary in Uzbekistan and expanding export volumes to Asian countries.
