Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 8 October 2024, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Uzbekistan, Olgan Bekar.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to economic cooperation, humanitarian assistance, and joint projects aimed at stabilizing the situation in Afghanistan.
Both sides agreed on the necessity of continuing regular bilateral contacts to coordinate efforts concerning Afghanistan.
The Turkish Ambassador praised Uzbekistan’s efforts in formulating a consolidated regional position on Afghanistan, establishing long-term peace and stability in the country, and providing humanitarian aid to the Afghan people.
Ambassador Olgan Bekar stated, "We highly appreciate Uzbekistan’s efforts in fostering dialogue with all stakeholders in Afghanistan, which is a key factor in achieving peace and stability in the country."
