Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 16 September, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov, held a meeting with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by Yasser Abdih, the IMF mission chief for Uzbekistan.
The meeting covered current economic trends in Uzbekistan, including issues related to economic growth, maintaining inflation stability, developing the service sector, budget forecasting, and other critical aspects.
The parties also exchanged views on plans to stabilize the economy, improve the tax system, accelerate the privatization of state enterprises, prospects for joining the World Trade Organization, combating the shadow economy, and developing the electric vehicle sector.
As a result of the discussions, an agreement was reached to further strengthen and expand mutually beneficial cooperation and to systematically work on achieving the set goals.
