Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Uzbekistan and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas have officially established diplomatic relations.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bakhtiyor Saidov noted that Uzbekistan aims to expand its partnerships worldwide.

"Today, we officially established diplomatic ties with the Commonwealth of the Bahamas," stated the minister.

"During my communication with my colleague, the Foreign Minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Frederick A. Mitchell, we acknowledged that despite the significant distance, there are numerous opportunities for establishing productive cooperation," added the head of Uzbekistan's Foreign Ministry.
