Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, held a meeting with the Executive Director of the Korea Exim Bank’s Operational Group, Um Song Yon.
The meeting focused on joint projects aimed at advancing digital technologies, startups, and ICT infrastructure.
Sherzod Shermatov emphasized the importance of Korea Exim Bank’s support in the development of Uzbekistan’s digital economy. He highlighted that South Korea’s experience is crucial in transforming digital services, creating job opportunities for youth, and enhancing Uzbekistan’s international competitiveness.
In response, Um Song Yon discussed the potential application of successful South Korean digital solutions in Uzbekistan. Special attention was given to projects supporting youth and creating high-paying jobs in the digital economy. Additionally, the modernization of Uzbekistan’s government digital services with the assistance of Korean partners was proposed.
The sides also discussed the implementation of new initiatives in IT education, the development of startup ecosystems, and the enhancement of the e-government system.
At the end of the meeting, Sherzod Shermatov expressed his gratitude to the Korean partners for their support of digital reforms and confirmed Uzbekistan’s readiness to expand cooperation.
