Uzbekistan and Russia sign a joint action plan in the tourism sector until 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Russia signed a roadmap to expand cooperation in the field of tourism until 2026.

The document was signed in Tashkent by the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov as part of the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan.

The roadmap includes 12 blocks of activities. The document is aimed at strengthening interstate interaction and cooperation in the tourism industry between Uzbekistan and Russia.

In particular, the parties intend to hold regular meetings, sessions and forums between government tourism and business organizations.

Maxim Reshetnikov noted that according to forecasts, the implementation of the planned activities will allow the mutual tourist flow to increase by another 40% by 2027 - up to 2 million trips per year.

The implementation of the roadmap will create conditions for mutual attraction of investors, and will also stimulate the development of cooperation between educational organizations of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.

It is expected that in June, representatives of the two countries will discuss the practical implementation of the road map during the second meeting of the Russian-Uzbek Subcommittee on Tourism. The meeting will take place in Moscow.
