Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the "Year of Tourism of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation," presentations showcasing Uzbekistan’s tourism potential took place at VDNH in Moscow, supported by the Uzbek Embassy and the Tourism Committee. Over 60 representatives from the tourism sector of Moscow and the Moscow region attended the events.

Jamshid Abdusalamov, the First Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, presented the ongoing reforms in the tourism sector and discussed new travel destinations. The Russian side was represented by Sangadji Tarabaev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Tourism, Dmitry Volvach, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Evgeny Kozlov, Chairman of the Moscow Tourism Committee, and Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia.

A special edition of the magazine "RussianTraveler," dedicated to Uzbekistan, was also launched during the event. Titled "Uzbekistan – An Eastern Fairytale," the issue invites readers to explore the unique culture and traditions of the country, its picturesque landscapes, and the culinary richness and hospitality of the Uzbek people. The magazine is distributed among Russian tour operators, companies, and in business circles and airports in Moscow, reaching an audience of 2 million on social media.

Participants were able to engage in B2B and B2G meetings, fostering new business connections between representatives of the tourism sectors of Uzbekistan and Russia. Guests had the opportunity to visit the Uzbekistan pavilion, showcasing the country’s rich cultural and historical heritage, and enjoy traditional Uzbek dishes.
