Uzbekistan and Qatar Sign Military Cooperation Memorandum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Qatar have signed a memorandum of understanding on military cooperation following official talks in Doha, according to an official report.

A delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Defence Minister Lieutenant General Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov paid an official visit to Qatar. During the visit, he met with the Deputy Prime Minister and State Minister for Defence Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani.

The two sides discussed current trends and developments in regional security, as well as issues related to expanding bilateral military cooperation and coordination in light of the current international situation.

Following the talks, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation between the defence ministries of the two countries.
