Uzbekistan and Qatar discussed cooperation in information technology

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  The Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov and the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Qatar Muhammad bin Ali Al Mannai held a meeting to discuss key issues of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of information and digital technologies.

The parties explored the prospects of expanding the use of cloud computing, data centers, and the potential for developing IT outsourcing in Uzbekistan.

Special attention was given to strengthening cooperation in digital infrastructure and the implementation of innovative technologies, including sharing best practices.

The meeting also covered initiatives for training qualified IT specialists and creating joint educational programs between Uzbekistan and Qatar.

In addition, cooperation with leading universities and research institutions in Uzbekistan was discussed, focusing on research exchange and skill development, as well as enhancing international cooperation.

During the discussions, the parties agreed to continue negotiations to explore future opportunities in information and digital technologies and implement joint projects.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the State of Qatar (MoCIT) is responsible for the country’s digital development strategy, cybersecurity, and innovation, including infrastructure modernization, compliance with international standards, and the development of the digital economy.
