Uzbekistan and Poland to expand cooperation in education and science
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan Sarvarkhon Buzrukkhonov held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Poland Andrzej Szeptycki.
At the outset, Andrzej Szeptycki emphasized that Poland views Uzbekistan as one of its strategic partners. He noted that over 2,000 Uzbek students are currently studying in Poland, playing a vital role in the country’s multicultural academic environment.
The two sides discussed expanding cooperation through scholarship programs such as Stefan Banach, Ulam, and Anders, the opening of an Uzbek language department at the University of Warsaw, and the organization of professional development courses for teachers and students under the NAWA program to promote the Polish language in Uzbekistan.
They also explored the possibility of organizing a 2026 congress of medical and technical universities and the next Uzbekistan–Poland Rectors’ Forum, as well as signing a new cooperation program in education and science for the period 2025–2028.
As a result of the meeting, both parties agreed to draft a new three-year cooperation program focused on education and science.
