Uzbekistan and MBI Selangor Explore Investment Cooperation in Fergana

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Fergana region has held discussions with MBI Selangor in Malaysia on potential joint investment projects and the expansion of economic cooperation, according to regional authorities.

During talks with MBI Selangor Chief Executive Officer Saipolzhan Yusup and representatives of several Malaysian companies in the state of Selangor, officials reviewed opportunities for collaboration across a range of sectors.

Fergana regional governor Khayrullo Bozorov noted the steady development of friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Malaysia, saying such practical engagements help strengthen interregional cooperation and create new business opportunities.

The discussions focused on potential cooperation with one of Selangor’s major investment corporations in areas including industry, construction, information technology, artificial intelligence, finance, tourism and energy.

The head of MBI Selangor presented an overview of the corporation’s activities, investment capacity and ongoing projects, noting that the company manages assets and investments on behalf of the Selangor state government and is involved in major economic initiatives aimed at stimulating growth and job creation.

During the meeting, several subsidiaries presented their projects. KDEB Waste Management outlined its waste management solutions, Invest Selangor presented investment and financing opportunities, while SMARTSEL showcased developments in smart city technologies.

The Uzbek delegation also presented Fergana’s economic and investment potential. Both sides agreed to explore the implementation of MBI Selangor’s experience in the region and to develop practical cooperation projects.

The delegation was also invited to participate in an international business forum scheduled to take place in Selangor in October this year.

At the conclusion of the talks, both sides reaffirmed their interest in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation and agreed to further develop concrete investment projects for future implementation.
